Abstract
Summary: Alicea and colleagues demonstrate that aged fibroblasts secrete lipids into the tumor microenvironment, allowing for nutrient exchange with melanoma cells. This supportive function of fibroblasts results in increased resistance to BRAF/MEKi therapy in the context of an aged microenvironment, providing crucial mechanistic insight into age-related drug resistance.
